Daylight Map Distribution v1.30 Released

Version 1.30 of Daylight Map Distribution now available for download.

• Daylight planet files are composed of 100% OSM data, released under the terms of the Open Database License
• We’ve checked public OSM changes, fixed those that might be harmful to our users and imported those fixes into the distribution.
• We publish the data in PBF, OSC, and other common file formats universally supported by OSM tools and already used for planet-scale file distribution

New in v1.30: Daylight Map Distribution

In this release, the building sidecar file contains 4X more buildings on the entire planet, which combines the Microsoft building datasets and Esri community maps that do not overlap with existing OpenStreetMap buildings. The file is substantially larger now.

In an effort to reduce the amount of processing time it takes to create the OSC sidecar files for daylight we have changed the compression of the ms-buildings-osc from bzip2 to gzip. Although the size of gzip files are not as small as the bzip2 we have found that the amount of time and processing in creating and processing gzip files is considerably faster. Also note that we are planning on switching all of the OSCs to the gzip compression next release.

• 3320 features were fixed from relation check
• 3940 features were fixed from various atlas checks
• 35 features were fixed from nlp check

A large forest area was repaired in Lazisko, Central Slovakia, Slovakia.

The Cedar Island Land Conservancy nature reserve in Town of Highland, Wisconsin, United States was not rendering due to open member ways.

A residential road name was updated to the correct spelling because it was incorrectly spelled in Monte Grande, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

A very large and far reaching wetland area was repaired in Municipio de Sauce Viejo, Santa Fe, Argentina.

The Julianaplein square near a large supermarket was repaired in Bussum, Netherlands.
