Continuing with our monthly release cadence, Daylight v0.5 is now available to downloadn. Continuing with our previous release, we’re including the Microsoft ML Building Footprints data conflated against this dataset and available as an OSM OSC file.
📥 Download Daylight Map Distribution right now in OpenStreetMap PBF format: 📦 planet-v0.5.osm.pbf (59.5GB).
📥 Download OSM coastlines in Shapefile format: 📦 daylight-v0.5-coastline-land-polygons.tgz (718MB)
We’ve continued our collaboration with the [Microsoft Building Footprints project] on an extension to Daylight and building footprints in Australia are now included.
Users often ask questions about what features we’re specifically filtering for publication with Daylight. As we’ve evolved our process over the past months, we’ve made it easier to share details about our work on the data. For v0.5, we:
Analyst Charmaine Bonifacio assembled all the issues we found when constructing v0.5 into a single data file, Daylight v0.5 Flagged and Fixed Features.csv.
If you have any questions about this data distribution, we have created a #daylightdistro_feedback Slack channel in OSM US. Members of the team will be there periodically to answer questions. You can also email the team at osm@fb.com.
