In an effort to ensure strategic independence from 3rd party map providers, our World.AI team has built its own Maps stack using OpenStreetMap (OSM) data that has been rolled out worldwide. OSM is a community built open source project where volunteers maintain map data features all over the world. While this is a great source of data it comes with some challenges such as vandalism, poor data, mis information and geometry errors. These issues are faced by all companies that are using OSM so over the past year we have been collaborating and exploring an effort to share the burden of solving these problems with them. Based on strong shared vision and readiness to give resources to start, we are signed an MOU with *Apple, ESRI, Grab, and Microsoft* to focus specifically on these issues and would like to create a shared repo of validations checks for the data.There are already many open source tools we use but its inefficient as they each have different infrastructure, UI and thresholds. Our goal is to sift through them and create one set of rules that can be used both for upstream editing and downstream uses of the data.
